The Gospel

1. GOD's creation
was perfect
2. Sin
entered
GOD's creation
3. What
is sin?
4. GOD has not
abandoned us
5. Lord Yeshua
(Jesus) died on
a cross and rose to life
6. We must confess our sins and ask for forgiveness
7. A restored
relationship with GOD
In the beginning, God created a world that was perfect
“And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.”
— Genesis 1:31 (KJV)
We were created to have fellowship with God!
God created humanity to know Him and live in fellowship with Him.
Adam and Eve were placed in the Garden of Eden, with one clear command:
“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it.”
— Genesis 2:17 (KJV)
Things went wrong!
Adam and Eve disobeyed God.
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food... she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
— Genesis 3:6 (KJV)
The consequences were immediate. Sin brought shame, fear and separation from God.
And Scripture gives us the fundamental explanation:
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin.”
— Romans 5:12 (KJV)
The problem of the world is "sin"
Sin isn't merely doing particularly terrible things. At its heart, it is rebellion against God's will and falling short of His righteousness.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
— Romans 3:23 (KJV)
That means all of us stand in need of God's forgiveness.
The Bible is also very direct about the consequence:
“For the wages of sin is death.”
— Romans 6:23 (KJV)
But—and this is where the Gospel becomes Good News! —that isn't the end of the verse.
“but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
— Romans 6:23 (KJV)
God's plan of salvation
God Himself provides the way back to Him.
Lord Yeshua came into the world for sinners.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son...”
— John 3:16 (KJV)
Lord Yeshua lived without sin:
“Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth.”
— 1 Peter 2:22 (KJV)
And yet He willingly took upon Himself the punishment that sinners deserved.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8 (KJV)
That is the heart of the Gospel.
Lord Yeshua (Jesus) took God's wrath on our behalf
Lord Yeshua died upon the cross, bearing our sins.
“Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree.”
— 1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
But the Gospel message doesn't end at the cross.
Lord Yeshua rose again.
“He is not here: for He is risen, as he said.”
— Matthew 28:6 (KJV)
The resurrection demonstrates Christ's victory over death and provides the hope of eternal life.
The need to confess our sins and ask for forgiveness
Yeshua preached:
“Repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
— Mark 1:15 (KJV)
We need to be honest with ourselves and truly accept who God is and who we are before a most Holy God.. We need to understand that any sin not washed clean by the Blood of Yeshua, leaves us naked and wretched and destined for HELL, which is eternal torment.
God is offering us the way to be forgiven and "He is just to forgive us".
