Yeshua, my teacher

I actually don't like talking about myself much,
as I wish to keep it all about Yeshua Himself! But, I have Norwegian heritage on the male side, and I was given a Scandinavian first name, but everyone just calls me "G" for short. I was very blessed to have been brought up in a large Godly household, and as a child, we went as a family, my father, mother, siblings, and I, to "The Railway Mission" for the Morning service and Afternoon Sunday School, here in the UK, which was over a 2 mile walk each way, in all weathers, which is why I suppose I like wearing wellingtons! I could see and observe God's creation all around me and knew it didn't happen from a big bang. The people and events in the Bible were backed up by archaeologists and historians with documents written in stone etc. At school everyone had to do a class session each week which was religious knowledge, known as "RK". I have always used the KJV Bible as a family, at the Railway Mission, and at School.
It was as an independent young man that I was born again, where I made the decision to follow Lord Yeshua seriously as I entered into maturity, to make the decision to pick up my cross and follow Him forever. It would have been easy to slide into a lifestyle that was doomed, but at the moment I was given a sense that GOD was calling me to be kept apart from all of that. It was a very profound moment and I remember to this day the moment it happened. I could sadly see the direction most of my peers (young men) at the time were heading in, and the things they were getting involved with, but I was convicted never to take that path.
Fast forward, I was baptised by a well known faithful independent preacher from London with a good reputation, in the sea at Pevensey Bay, in East Sussex, England, which happens to be the landing site of William the Conqueror in 1066.
I have given Bible studies in church and message (sermons) in church, at various venues and outdoor places. I love speaking about Lord Yeshua to those outside four walls.
I have run and been a Trustee of a drop in centre where I felt God directly calling me with a need for me to "reach out" to those who were homeless, those with drug addiction, alcoholics, those depressed to the point of being suicidal, self-harmers, giving as and when, the Gospel, and hope found in Scripture itself, relating their plight to the plights of people recorded in both the Old Testament and New Testament, because modern day problems are no different to ancient day problems, it is the same fallen world, there is "Nothing new under the sun". I like scripture to speak for itself, because it provides true hope to the broken hearted and afflicted. At the drop in centre, I was responsible for helping provide provision with food, clothes, accommodation, and coordinating care with other services in the area such as BETEL UK.
I have given talks and lectures with others as regards to Christian persecution around the world supporting "Open Doors International" initiatives.
In the past I have helped organise and taken part in the "Eastbourne Ascension Day March" through the main high street in Eastbourne, which also meant encouraging other congregations to get involved too!
I now currently spend a lot of my time giving the Gospel message, as and where and when, by any means available, and often can be seen wearing my wellington boots!

From Land to Sea
I've spent a lot of time all over the UK at various locations, from Scotland down to the South coast, sometimes in cities, and at other times in rural communities. Wherever I find myself, I always encourage others to read the Bible for themselves. In today's world we can get bombarded by information, disinformation, conspiracies and heresies, if we are not anchored on the Word of God itself, we can get swept out to sea. To be anchored requires knowing the Word of God in the first place. Something I am very keen on is creating spaces to simply give people the space and time for them to come to the Word of God.
Fellowship and studying can take place anywhere, from within a traditional church congregation setting, within the home, outside in small groups, just about anywhere!
Lord Yeshua said ""For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:20).
Family and Community
The "Railway Mission" gave myself and my family a very solid foundation for Biblical living and a sense of community based on God's Word as I was growing up. There was a real sense of fellowship and "wider family" based on traditional Judeo-Christian principles, and it stood me on solid ground for later life. I always encourage people to find a good solid church congregation that is preaching the Gospel and upholding God's commands. Sadly, we are seeing a lot of "compromise" enter into many congregations, but there are still faithful brethren out there.
Family is important. Fellowship is important. Unity within the body of Christ is something to be cherished. Apostle Paul states; "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching" (Hebrews 10:25).
A core focus of The Railway Mission, was to tackle "alcoholism", especially amongst its railway workers, and I guess this is why I've never really felt drawn to drinking alcohol myself, and perhaps why I have often felt God leading me to help others to tackle these types of problems. God really does have a plan for each and everyone, and will often place people in His timing and in the right place to reach those who He wishes, to restore lives and bring them back to a place where they can drink from His living water and have a life more abundant which He promises. For followers of Lord Yeshua, our bodies are a living temple. Although a completely personal choice, I refrain from too much highly processed foods, and tend to source produce that has been farmed with care for God's creation. I have nothing against "meat eating", indeed, God has declared all foods clean, but I only eat fish, vegatables, and a little dairy myself, giving thanks to Lord Yeshua every time!
